For those interested in knowing, the Sts Gregory and Cecilia Choirs will sing together this Sunday at the 9am mass, and provide all the music for the high mass and benediction.
This choir consists of boys and girls ages 10 and up, and most music they sing antiphonally, or sing short canons.
May their efforts this Sunday help aid your prayer at mass.
For those who would be interested in listening, I will be interview on Guadalupe Radio (910 AM) THIS Friday, Feb. 27, between 12-1pm, about the choir’s first CD, “Lux in Tenebris: Holy Week at Mater Dei”.
May the beauty of our liturgy at Mater Dei reach more people through the music of our parish!
Prayers please, that the publicity will help our fundraising effort in this way.

Dear Parishioners,
Please consider ordering some tasty Vermont Maple Syrup and supporting the choir program at Mater Dei in the process! You can get much larger quantities than what is in the stores, at a great price, and the syrup is made by my own family in Vermont.
Small jugs make great gifts, and we also have maple cream, maple nuts, and maple candies available to order.
THE HOLY WEEK CD produced by the choirs will ALSO be available for purchase at the table.
Please consider supporting one of these endeavors, which helps to self-fund supplies needed for the growing children/teen choir program, and stipends for organists/instrumentalists on major feasts and festive seasons.
With greater success of our efforts at an annual CD, we also hope our fundraisers can help with the parish capital campaign in the future.
Come to the table to get a sample taste, from my family, to yours!

As we approach the pre-lent and lenten seasons, it is time to introduce a chant mass setting appropriate for the season. To encourage the congregation to participate as our priests desire, I and our men’s schola leader, will hold mini-workshop style rehearsals in the the Little Therese Room (women/children) and the St. Francis room (men/teen boys), for any who wish to learn Mass XVII, which is the suggested chant mass for the seasons of Advent and Lent. Just bring yourself, ready to learn! :)
I encourage as many to come that can if you ever attend the high mass, including children in the choir program. The Kyrie, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei belong to the people to sing, so I hope our efforts to help everyone learn them will be taken advantage of.
See you on Sundays Jan. 18 and 25, from 10:50am-11:20am!
