The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop—a “holy wasting” (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ.
At Mater Dei, we have a prayer group for each of our five priests. Each group of seven women for a particular priest is under a designated Anchoress. We always need more women who will commit to praying for our priests. If you can not make the commitment to pray weekly, we need women who can substitute for regular prayers when they go on vacation or have other temporary obligations which preclude them from their prayer commitment.
You can ask to be put in a group for a particular priest or be designated as a substitute. While the Holy Hour for your priest is ideally done in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament at any church, If it isn’t possible to be in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, you should offer an hour of quiet prayer wherever you are.
