The Pumpkin Patch is off to a good start. We have Pumpkin People (volunteers) helping out at the Pumpkin Patch, but we need more help for next week.
Please sign up for a specific time if possible. This will help our swing-shift volunteers know what hours they need to cover! This is a Mater Dei Community project – Thank you!
Registration for Catechism classes will be held following the 9:00 & 11:30 AM Masses next Sunday, August 30th, in the Parish Hall.
More information:
Registration will be held on Sunday, August 23rd and 30th in the Parish Hall.
A $20 donation per family for books is requested. A refund of $10 for returned books, in good condition, will be given at the end of the year.
Please consider additional donations for those families in need.
Attendance is very important. If you know you will be absent, please let your teacher know in advance. If your child is ill, let us know. If you are a home school family and want your child to attend some of the sessions, please let us know.
For Sacramental Classes, students preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion or Confirmation may not have more than three unexcused absences during the school year. More than three absences will jeopardize their chances to receive the Sacraments.
Arrivals after 1:15 p.m. are considered tardy.
All students under high school age need to be signed in and out by their parents, or a older sibling. The sign-in/out sheets are in the classrooms.
Students who have already received their Sacraments should still attend a majority of the sessions in order to keep up with the class

There will be a Solemn High Mass offered at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 15th to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The 8:00 A.M. Mass has been canceled.
Also, due to the fact that this Solemnity falls on a Saturday, this is not a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic dioceses of the United States.
(To be prayed at least once a day, and in time of temptation – especially by those who struggle with habitual or repeated sins).
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Thy Son I pray: May the Precious Blood of Jesus, wash over me and through me. Let it heal any and every wound and scar, so that the devil may find no purchase in me. Cause it to saturate and fill up my whole being; my heart, soul, mind, and body; my memory, and my imagination; my past and my present; every fiber of my being, every molecule, every atom. Let there remain no part of me un-touched by His Precious Blood. Make it flow over and around the altar of my heart on every side.
[If there are particular wounds you know are there, add: Fill and heal especially the wounds and scars of/caused by _________ ]
These things I ask of You, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus.
Jesus, likewise grant that the light of Your Holy Cross shine in all these same parts of me and my life, that no darkness remain where the devil may hide or have any influence.
Mary, Refuge of Sinners, pray for me to receive these graces I ask. Amen.
