Please Contribute to the Carmelite Christmas Feast
The Truty family is coordinating Christmas meals for the Discalced Carmelite Nuns who so graciously gave a home to our Latin Mass Community for 18+ years prior to becoming our own parish. If you are able, please choose an item or items from the list or think of your own special addition to their meal , then bring the item to Church and place it on the Carmelite table located on the East side of the Parish Hall or place it in the refrigerator (labeled CARMELITES) in the kitchen.
A list of items for the feast, as well as the sign up list can be found at this link:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090a4aa9a62aa57-carmelite1
Items will be picked up the next two Sundays (December 13th & 20th) and drop them off with the Sisters. If you would like, you can personally deliver the items to the Sisters at 600 Flowers Ave, Dallas, Texas 75211. They would like to hear from you! There will be a list of items needed on the Carmelite table as well.
God bless you in advance for your generosity.

Lumen Gentium: Advent & Christmas at Mater Dei CD’s will be available for purchase November 8th, 15th, & 22nd in the parish hall after all Masses. They are $13 each with a 10% discount for a purchase of three or more.
The adult choirs of Mater Dei Catholic Church have continued the theme of “light” in relation to our first album, “Lux in Tenebris”, which means “light in darkness”. Christ came into the darkness of the world, steeped in sin, to save us through his passion, death, and resurrection.
So also, at his birth, Simeon proclaimed Him “a light of revelation to the gentiles”, so we have titled our new CD “Lumen Gentium”, meaning “light of nations”.
We hope our music efforts will become increasingly known, so that we may contribute to our parish’s capital campaign to build a bigger church. Our parish sorely needs a bigger space to worship, and the choirs are fast outgrowing the size of our choir loft as well! We have an all-boys choir age 7-12, an all girls choir ages 7-12, and a new, mixed youth choir for ages 13-17. There are 70 children/youth involved in these choirs. We also have a men’s schola and a women’s schola for singing the full Gregorian propers of the traditional Catholic liturgy, and the two adult choirs who recorded this CD.
Our parish has a strong focus on a Capella music in our worship, and fostering the congregation’s participation in singing Gregorian chant and hymns. We sing mainly polyphonic repertoire from the renaissance era for the major feast days throughout the liturgical year.
Thank you for purchasing our music! We hope it edifies your prayer life, and makes your Advent and Christmas meditations on the coming of Christ more fruitful. All our tracks have english translations with the physical CD.
