I hope all were uplifted last Sunday and aided in prayer with the music for the feast of Pentecost! You will hear Palestrina’s Missa Lauda Sion again for the feast of Corpus Christi next Sunday.
This Sunday, we have focused our efforts on some new motets to honor the Holy Trinity.
The women schola has learned a wonderful little piece, “Benedictus sit Deus” by Ravanello:
Blessed be God the Father
and the only-begotten Son of God,
and the Holy Spirit;
for he has dealt with us according to his mercy.
At Communion, you should hear a new motet by Palestrina, “O Beata et Benedicta et Gloriosa Trinitas”:
O Happy, and blessed and glorious trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Alleluia
O Happy, and blessed and glorious unity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Alleluia
A jubilant piece just joyfully singing praise to the Trinity!
Now that the Easter season officially comes to an end, we will return to singing “Salve Regina” (Hail holy queen…), and start off the season with the version by Schubert.
Happy feast of the Holy Trinity!

Please note the following changes to the Mass schedule from Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 3:
The Mater Dei Eucharistic Adoration Society organizes parish-wide visitation hours during which the Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration. We encourage all parishioners, who are able, to join us in helping to make reparation for sins against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary in this special way.
